At the same time, climate change and the loss of biodiversity are significant risks for the food and agriculture sector. A growing global population is further increasing demand for food production and putting additional pressure on land and nature.

The BeeHive Food Hub provides members with opportunities to learn about and discuss biodiversity footprining and natural capital accounting methods and how these can be applied in the food sector.

How to fulfill the future biodiversity reporting requirements in the food sector?

The loss of biodiversity is one of the biggest challenges of our time. Many ecosystems that provide us with essential resources are at risk of collapsing. At the same time, biodiversity reporting is now mandatory for the food sector.

This event by the CircHive BEEHive (Biodiversity Excellence of Enterprises) community explained the current requirements related to biodiversity reporting and showcased practical tools to measure and manage nature issues at the farm and value chain level. We also had the chance to learn from the experience of two companies - Barilla and Valio.
